In 1982 Apostle Howell was called into the ministry by God to be a laborer in the vineyard.  In 1986 he was ordained has an elder in Los Angeles, CA. under the leadership and guidance of Bishop Wilbur McNair, COGIC. 

         He could be found in the community either on a street corner or in a store ministering the Word of God leaving behind many who gave their life to Christ. Many were delivered and set free from the bonds of wickedness with a life changing transformation.

       He began preaching the Word of God in the Skid Row District in Los Angeles. His desire to reach souls beyond the walls of the church grew intensely.

       God led him to develop and become a part of several outreach organizations such as "Church on Wheels", an outreach ministry that traveled throughout southern California proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

        He was a dedicated volunteer with the Salvation Army-Harbor Light Mission and served on the ministry team at Good News Mission Outreach.  In 1988, he was called into the office of a Pastor of Amen Deliverance Ministries in Los Angeles, CA and later  in the fall of 1988 God commissioned him to begin an outreach ministry in Columbia, MS.

        Between 1992-1999, he established Greater Prayer and Deliverance Ministries and Kingdom Come Mission Outreach. Several ministries were birthed under the gift of the Apostle, Spiritual Warriors Anointed Team Ministries (SWAT) and Fraternal Order of Christ Brotherhood.

      Apostle Stephen Howell assignment is to train, strengthen and encourage the brethren.
